Autodesk Announcement – Autodesk Details Next Phase of Subscription Transition

Today Autodesk announced that from 31st July 2016, new commercial licenses of most Autodesk Design and Creation Suites and individual products will only be available on a subscription basis.

From this date, Autodesk will now be providing new desktop subscription options so that clients can access multiple products and share licenses as they currently do, but with the flexibility, scalability and simplicity of subscription.

Desktop subscription means that less funding is needed upfront: It offers the the ability to use Autodesk products on more of a ‘pay-as-you-go’ basis, and clients will be able to choose from multi-year, annual, quarterly or monthly subscription terms. As a result, companies can work in a more agile way, with a reduced cost to shifting business environments.

Andrew Anagnost, Autodesk senior vice president of Industry Strategy & Marketing says “The way we design and make things is changing: every industry is being disrupted by changes in production, demand and products. Autodesk is embracing this new norm and evolving our business so that customers can thrive in theirs. Giving customers the flexibility to subscribe to software solutions that precisely match their needs best positions them to compete in this new era.”
